Keep it Cool: My favorite places to cool down in Magic Kingdom.

It is finally starting to feel like SUMMER here in Ohio. Cue the ice cream, pool days, and endless hours outside. If you're like me and live in a state that is prone to snow, 75 can seem like a heatwave! So how can you beat the heat in the summer months visiting Walt Disney World? Ive put together a list of a places we enjoy taking a few to cool down and reboot while going non stop at the parks!

Now some of these things might sound obvious, but for some reason when we go on vacation its like all common sense leaves us and sometimes we act like we've never been exposed to the outside world (don't worry we've all been there). That being said, my first way to cool down is RIDE A RIDE!

Seems silly when you say it out loud but most que lines at Disney are inside and inside = air conditioning! Now Im not suggesting go wait in the longest line ever to cool down because standing is not helping you recharge, think quick moving line, slow moving ride for example: It's a Small World: Everyone can ride it, the line moves quick, the ride moves slow, it's inside, air is flowing all you have to do is tune out the the redundant tune and relax! Not your idea entertainment while relaxing? Stage shows are another great way to cool down. Try Monsters in Laugh Floor, again the que is inside, its moves quickly and once you are through the theater doors there's seating. The show runs for 10 minutes and is entertaining for all ages. Fun fact, it is always different because the show uses audience members! Similar to this is Philharmagic which happens to be my favorite attraction at Magic Kingdom! A 3D projection of some of your favorite Disney classics that will make you feel like you're in the movie with them! It has theater seating, air conditioning and runs for 12 minutes. But, my all time favorite ride to take a breather on is THE PEOPLE MOVER. Take a 10 minute tour of Tomorrowland while enjoying a comfy seat and the wind on your face. This is perfect for little ones who might be on the verge of nap time. The movement and sound of the ride is that of a car and can be extremely relaxing for little ones (and adults too). Trust me when I say you'll never want it to end. Other suggestions for indoor relaxation: Carousel of Progress, Under the Sea Journey of the Little Mermaid, Haunted Mansion, Country Bear Jamboree, The Train, and Pirates of the Caribbean.

One issue that arises in our family is entertaining the toddlers while big brother rides all the big kid rides! Not all of the rides with "required heights" have exit waiting areas, but the few that do are a saving grace, especially when you've got some cranky babies. Splash Mountain has a great little briar patch themed toddler play area. It has a little tunnel and slide that surprisingly keeps the littles entertained for quite some time. There is no specific seating but plenty of wall space to relax on while you wait and watch the kids.

Now this next spot we stumbled upon accidentally but so happy we found! Nestled right in-between Space Mountain the the Carousel of Progress is a little concrete area with tables, chairs, and lots of room for the kids to run around. If you are familiar with Tomorrow land, it sits right behind the bathrooms that are to the right of Space Mountain. This area was perfect for our kids to let out some steam while the adults ride switched Space Mountain. We grabbed some cold treats, grabbed a seat, and let the kids run free. It was completely secluded and quiet! A great place to relax in-between rides! There are several spots like this through out the park, such as Gaston's Tavern but none that I feel are as quiet and relaxing as this area in Tomorrowland!

Remember when I said earlier that some of these places may seem obvious but we don't always use our common sense on vacation? This next one is one of those. My ultimate favorite place to cool down while at Magic Kingdom is Casey Jr.'s Splash n' Soak Station located in front of Dumbo in Storybook Circus. This adorable circus themed splash pad is the PERFECT way for your littles to cool off and run around. I usually take a run through the water with my kids as well, hey you're never too old for Disney. Now if you don't have a change of clothes maybe don't let your kids get drenched, but there are towels available for purchase if needed! The great thing about Florida is the heat and humidity usually soak up the water in a few minutes so you won't be wet for too long!

So there you have it! A list of my favorite cool down spots in Magic Kingdom! Hope this helps you if you're caught in the park on a long hot day and need a little time to cool down and relax!
